De Regenboog Groep is collecting caps, sunglasses and (new) water bottles to support homeless people in the city during the hot summer months. For those without a permanent residence, summer can be just as dangerous as winter. Bright sun, high temperatures and limited access to water pose serious health risks such as dehydration, sunstroke and overheating. That risk is even somewhat greater in the city than outside.

Many homeless people do not have the means or ability to purchase these basic items themselves. That's why De Regenboog Groep is taking action. By donating hats, sunglasses or a new reusable water bottle, you not only give someone protection from the heat, but also the feeling that they are being thought of.

Are you helping? We need this:

• hats and sun visors
• sunglasses (not prescription)
• reusable, clean and tight-fitting water bottles

Clothing is very important to our homeless visitors. To protect themselves from the weather and because clothing gives self-esteem and identity. Of course, they also want to look fresh and feel comfortable.

What we need most are:

• (denim) pants,
• jerseys and sweaters,
• T-shirts,
• (thermal) underwear,
• jackets and rainwear,
• socks and shoes,

Give clothes that you could still wear yourself. Then it will also be good enough to donate to someone else. Give your clothes with love.

Bring good men's clothing to one of our locations (delivery addresses at the bottom of this page). We don't need women's clothing; most of the homeless are men.

Many visitors to our walk-in centres sleep outside (regularly). That is a rock hard existence. They ask us for sleeping bags, usually telling us that they have run out again. Please help us.
We are looking for good sleeping bags that can withstand low temperatures, with working zippers and preferably waterproof. Please bring these to one of our locations (delivery addresses at the bottom of this page).

Our social workers find that many homeless and other vulnerable Amsterdam residents do not have a smartphone or other access to the Internet. While the people for whom it is most difficult (for a while) to participate in society are most in demand in the digital field. Work and housing can be found online. And think of your health insurance company and government agencies such as the Department for Work and Income, the UWV and the Tax Administration. Everywhere you have to log in with your DigiD.

Help address this problem by donating a really good working smartphone. Smartphones are quickly becoming obsolete. The software and apps required for the services mentioned above do not run on older phones. Also, many homeless people want to work as meal delivery drivers, for which they need a phone that supports the app on which orders come in.

Do you have a smartphone lying around that works really well? Or a laptop? Then bring it with charger to one of our locations. You can find the delivery addresses at the bottom of this page. We will professionally empty your phone or laptop and reset it to factory settings. If by accident it still contains old data, then nobody will see it.

In our Streetwise Cycle Team people whose lives are not rolling so well (for a while) come together, they meet in their love for cycling and cycling. In order to provide all team members with bikes, we are looking for: Loose (road) bike and mountain bike parts. Complete road and mountain bikes are of course also very welcome! It all does not have to be perfectly beautiful, but in a state that you would still use it yourself. We are tinkerers as well as cyclists, so we can also assemble bikes from the parts.
