Our dream
We dream of a city in which there is a space for everyone. A city in which all people - rich and poor, socially active and isolated - live and work together to cocreate a desirable life. A city in which we are concerned with one anothers’ wellbeing and help each other grow. A city in which people who have more energy, (financial) stability or a stronger network, volunteer to help the less empowered. A city that can be a home for everyone. Where no man, woman or child needs to feel lost.
Our mission and our policy
We stimulate the development of people living in (social) poverty, encouraging them to actively take part in society.
We believe that every human life is valuable and every human is worthwhile caring for.
Whether they became isolated because of mental health or addiction related issues, live on the street or have financial debts: De Regenboog Groep stimulates people in poor social situations to take back the lead and create a fulfilling and socially active life for themselves. Our volunteers and workforce are united in their concern with the empowerment of people in (social) poverty. We are all human.
Our approach
The city is constantly changing and so does the need of vulnerable people in the city. We frequently start new projects that respond to their needs. To measure the impact of our practices De Regenboog uses various instruments. We apply the results of the measurements in justifications to our funders, in evaluation meetings with our clients and volunteers and to adjust our policies.
Board of Directors & Supervisory Board
De Regenboog Groep works according to a supervisory board model, with a single man Board of Directors who carries out the daily management and has responsibility of the total organization.

Forty years ago, the Reverend Wouters found himself caring for young, homeless addicts in Vondel Park. Nowadays, we are a large organisation offering care to the most vulnerable people in Amsterdam.
collaborations
We collaborate with other organizations in Amsterdam to make our city a better place.
