It doesn't matter what you want help with. We listen to you, think with you and, if necessary, arrange practical matters for you. We are the social work and therefore professional caregivers of De Regenboog Groep.
Streetwise and professional
We specialize in supporting people with psychiatric problems, people with addictions, the homeless, people without residence permits and those who do not want to ask for help.
We therefore keep a close eye on changing regulations and laws. So we know what help is available and who is eligible for it. In short: we are streetwise enough to understand the problems you are struggling with and we are professional, which means that we don't shy away from forms and bureaucracy.
Our approach
We get to work on your questions and we don't ask you to do anything you don't want to or can't do. We help you with the things you cannot do yourself. Because of this, it is never fixed in advance what we will do, we determine that together with you. Some people are helped when we give advice once, others benefit more when we offer long-term practical help. If we cannot help you ourselves, we will introduce you to someone who can. We are only satisfied when you are stronger in your shoes.
Support for non-Dutch nationals
The Regenboog has a lot of experience helping EU migrants stranded in Amsterdam. We have been doing this for more than 40 years. We speak many different European languages and work together with immigration lawyers, healthcare institutions abroad, embassies and consulates. If you want, we will help you return to the country where you once made your home. But even if you want to stay in the Netherlands, we can tell you what is possible.
We also help undocumented people living on the streets.
Supporting the economically homeless
You have lost your home, but the homeless shelter is not a place for you. After all, you're not an addict and don't have any major mental health problems. Still, you could use some help. Our support centers for "economically homeless" are here for you.
