Support Group for Family Members and Friends of People with Mental Health Issues and Addiction
Droogbak 1d
1013 GE Amsterdam
Support group for loved ones, such as family and friends, of people with an addiction or a psychiatric condition.
It can be very difficult when your partner, child, or parent is struggling with addiction or mental health issues. You’re worried and want to help them. Sometimes you feel like you’re on your own. How do you cope in this difficult situation? That’s what the support group for loved ones is for.
It can be supportive to share your story with others in similar situations. Share your experiences and stories and hear how others in comparable situations cope. Find a sense of connection. Perhaps you’ll develop a strategy that works better for you in dealing with your situation. There’s a chance this will help you feel stronger and more resilient.
We offer a safe group environment. During the meetings, your experiences are acknowledged, and you’ll learn from and with one another.

Our Approach
Our approach is tailored to your needs and driven by your questions. During the sessions, there is plenty of opportunity to share experiences. Topics such as shame, guilt, taking up space, and setting boundaries will be addressed. Together, we’ll explore whatever is most relevant at that moment. We’ll work on these issues in a safe environment using various methods (such as role-playing and body-oriented work).
Facilitated by Ester Winkelhuis and Dick Claassen.
