Bring good men's clothing to a walk-in centre

"Fuck you!" It's quite a flat curse. And unfortunately the feeling that often besets someone who is homeless. But the "fuck you" referred to here is something the homeless visitors to our walk-in centres could well use. Not only to stay warm and dry and arm themselves against the winter. But good clothing also provides self-esteem and identity. This applies to almost everyone, even, or perhaps especially, if you have to live on the streets.

"Being who you want to be, good clothing is part of that."

Men's clothing so good you'd still wear it yourself

We are asking everyone to bring good, beautiful men's clothing to our walk-in centres. Think: jeans, T-shirts, sweaters, sweatshirts, jackets, boxer shorts and socks. AND shoes. What is 'good clothing'? We always say: if you could still wear it yourself, it's also good enough to give to someone else. Give it with love.

We don't need women's clothing. We have enough of that and by far the majority of homeless visitors to our walk-in centres are men.

Does not need women's clothing.

A person with a name

Location head Kathleen Denkers: "In De Regenboog Groep's walk-in centres, we give people their names back. On the street, they are a homeless person. Here we see the person, listen to what someone wants and help people be who they want to be. Part of that is good clothes that fit someone. With that, you can look fresh, feel comfortable with what you put out and get to where you want to be in life better."

See below what the clothing obtained at our walk-in centre does for Yassine and how some of our homeless visitors describe the walk-in centre they come to.

No men's clothing to give away, but want to help?

You can very easily donate an amount of your choice. You can do so in several ways:
