Internship at De Regenboog
Internships for MBO and HBO students
In a city like Amsterdam, it’s only natural to find people with psychosocial problems. The city also attracts vulnerable people from outside the Randstad and from outside the Netherlands. De Regenboog supports them and helps them regain control of their own lives. This makes Amsterdam and De Regenboog Groep great places to put into practice what you’ve learned in theory during your studies.
Vocational High School Internship
If you’re enrolled in a Level 4 MBO program in social work, you can participate in one of the walk-in centres or work programs. You can find more information about walk-in centres and work programs on this website. To apply for an MBO internship, visit stage@deregenboog.org or using the form below. Don’t forget to include your resume and specify your available internship days, your internship period, and the number of hours you need to complete per week.
For more information, call 06 14 86 67 73 (Willemijn Los, internship coordinator) or 06 44 14 29 28 (Jermaine Starke, internship coordinator)
HBO Internship
If you’re in your second year of a social sciences program at a university of applied sciences (such as Social Work or Pedagogy) and are looking for an internship of 16 hours or fewer, you can get started as a buddy in our Informal Care department. You’ll provide support to people in various areas of need, such as financial difficulties, mental health, addiction, youth and young adults, asylum seekers, language buddies, and much more. For more information, email stage-iz@deregenboog.org
If you’re interested in a combined internship at both a walk-in centre (serving people experiencing homelessness and addiction) and Informal Care, this is possible. You’ll do your internship one day a week at a walk-in centre, and for the remaining hours of your internship contract, you’ll work at Informele Zorg as a buddy.
Please clearly indicate this in your cover letter and email it along with your resume to: stage-iz@deregenboog.org
If you’re in your third year of a higher professional education (HBO) program in Social Work and Social Services (MWD), you can do an internship with De Regenboog’s social work department. It’s a plus if you’re fluent in multiple languages. Want to know more about the opportunities for an MWD internship? stage@deregenboog.org
