In Amsterdam, many people struggle with addiction. Sometimes to alcohol or drugs. Sometimes to drugs, gambling or gaming. Or a combination thereof. Such an addiction can slowly take over life - contact with others becomes more difficult, the network smaller and the threshold to do something increasingly higher.
.And this can happen to anyone. Whether you are young or older, practically or theoretically educated, male, female or something else - addiction knows no boxes.
What will you do?
As a volunteer with De Regenboog Groep, you will be paired with someone dealing with addiction. You will not be a social worker, but rather a buddy. Someone to meet for a cup of coffee, a walk, a game or to cook together. Just person to person.
"Doing something for a while that is not related to my addiction is golden."
