At De Regenboog Groep we are committed to helping people who could use a helping hand. In our walk-in centres Amoc West and Zeeburg we provide a warm place, a listening ear and a nutritious meal every day. We need you for that!

What will you do?

As a volunteer cook, you will provide a delicious lunch for our visitors - people from vulnerable backgrounds, often without a roof over their heads. You will make a difference with a well-filled pan and a smile.

.

Cooking at walk-in centre AMOC West:

  • You will cook on a fixed day a week for about 80 people
  • .
  • Lunch is served at 12:30, you start around 9:00 or 9:30 (depending on your cooking pace)
  • You put together your own menu and communicate what ingredients you need - the shopping will be done for you
  • You cook together with another volunteer and sometimes a visitor helps with the cutting
  • .
  • You only have to wash your work area and utensils (the rest is done for you)
  • The walk-in centre is open 7 days a week, so there is always a suitable day
  • .

Who are we looking for?

  • A hobby cook, home cook or retired chef who enjoys cooking for others
  • You are flexible, sociable and enjoy working together
  • You are available for a minimum of 6 months
  • Someone open to meeting people from backgrounds different from your own

What do you get from us?

  • A warm team of volunteers and colleagues
  • Much appreciation and happy faces
  • The chance to really mean something to people who need it
  • .
  • Travel allowance and support from De Regenboog Groep
