De Gravin Community Restaurant is one of De Regenboog’s five community restaurants. Every week, an enthusiastic team of volunteers prepares a healthy and delicious three-course meal for local residents and participants of De Regenboog. At long, festively set tables, people meet and enjoy a good meal together.
For De Gravin, we’re looking for a head chef who enjoys cooking for a larger group and working with a team to create a wonderful evening. We start cooking every Monday at 3:00 PM, with the help of two assistant chefs. By then, the head chef has already done all the grocery shopping, and we get to work together to prepare a delicious meal!
Can’t make it every week, but maybe twice a month? We’d still love to hear from you. We’d be happy to work with you to figure out what works best!
What are you going to do?
Role: Head Chef
- You create the menu and submit it to the coordinator by 12:00 p.m. on Monday at the latest for the upcoming week.
- You do the grocery shopping and ensure that costs stay within the budget (€5 per guest). The number of guests varies by evening and by neighborhood restaurant. One neighborhood restaurant can seat 30 guests, while another can seat 25.
- You are the point of contact for ensuring the kitchen is left clean and tidy.
- You lead the team of assistant cooks and delegate tasks in the kitchen.
