Each walk-in centre of De Regenboog Groep has its own site council, meeting once a month. Here matters are discussed that are in the interest of the visitors.
Visitors and former visitors are therefore also present at the meeting, so that they too can have their voices heard about important matters and points for improvement within the walk-in centre. Together they look at whether things can be done differently or better and the location council members contribute points they want to discuss with the location head.
What will you do?
As a volunteer you will be engaged in taking minutes; providing an orderly and relevant summary. A laptop is provided so you can type right along during the meeting.
Who are we looking for?
- You are good at taking minutes;
- You have an affinity with the target group (especially homeless people);
- You are good at client-oriented communication;
- You are good at listening, you have patience and can keep calm;
Responsibility
The volunteer is not a member of the client council, but is independent and not a party in the participation process. The volunteer supports the process and procedures of the client council, the client council itself is responsible for the content of the council work. The volunteer is never responsible for advice given, that responsibility lies with the client council.
Training and courses
De Regenboog Groep is affiliated with the Volunteer Academy. As a Regenboog volunteer, you have free access to the full training offerings.
What do you get from us?
- You can really mean something to the homeless in Amsterdam.
- You will be part of a fun organization and receive support and the opportunity to follow training sessions.
- In addition, you will develop and/or improve your own talents, strengths and skills.
- There is also a volunteer allowance.
Where and when?
Once a month there is a meeting. The days and times vary by walk-in centre.
A meeting takes about 2 hours, in addition you will spend about 1.5 hours per meeting processing the minutes. So in total you work about 3.5 hours per month in this position.
As a volunteer, you will be working at your own "regular" walk-in centre.
