Providing assistance to victims of human trafficking and domestic violence is a specialized process. We do not get involved in that.
Our volunteers focus on the lighthearted side of life. The participants are in a vulnerable position, and that requires something special from our volunteers. They stand alongside the participant, go at the participant’s own pace, and are comfortable with silence. Moreover, they know where their role ends and professional assistance begins.

Who are we looking for?
- Women 35 and older with life experience, who are stable themselves
- Not a savior, but someone who can join in on creating positive experiences
- You don’t mind occasionally being a short-term buddy to someone, since people may be reassigned at any time
What are you going to do?
In addition to doing fun activities, it’s also great if you want to practice Dutch with your buddy. This will mainly involve women staying at Blijf Groep or the Center Against Human Trafficking.
What do you get from us?
- Professional guidance;
- Exchange of tips and experiences with other volunteers;
- An expense allowance of 10 euros per visit to spend on an activity with your buddy;
- Free access to the full range of training courses offered by the Volunteer Academy.
We won’t throw you in at the deep end. We don’t just send anyone out to knock on someone’s door. As a new volunteer, you’ll receive training first. After that, you can truly make a difference in someone’s life.
