Freddy Pawiroredjo - driver, has been working at De Regenboog Groep since 2018. Every day he drives his electric cart around Amsterdam, passing the various locations.
"I've always been from the city, delivery and things like that. Courier work. I love driving in Amsterdam. You have to have some kind of peace and quiet yes, because that daily traffic here...
I do have a lot of unpleasant memories from my past in this city. I started traveling back then, halfway around the world, and through the travel I recovered. When I came back I had nothing, zero. Then you have to go into a walk-in centre somewhere. Being homeless, you can get out of that, provided there is the will to survive. Look, the Regenboog doesn't come to you. You have to make a little effort to make it easier and a little more liveable for yourself.
I did several day jobs and eventually got a paid job with De Regenboog Groep as a result. I have recently moved into a home. My own kitchen, my own oven. Lots of good food! My own bed! I thank all the people for that, and I thank God for it."
