WINTER COLD ON THE STREETS—DONATE COATS AND WARM CLOTHING

For homeless people—and especially for those who sleep outdoors—it’s a matter of survival in the winter.

placeholder

Homeless people in Amsterdam spend much of their days—and often their nights as well—outdoors. They usually have to walk long distances from one shelter to another, braving the cold, storms, and rain. That’s why a coat and clothes that keep you warm and dry are essential. And almost no homeless person has a good coat that will protect them from the Dutch weather throughout the fall and winter. You can only imagine how many we need...

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Donate your used or new winter clothes now. We need clothing for men:

  • Winter coat
  • Raincoat
  • Long pants
  • Warm sweaters and cardigans
  • Thermal clothing
  • Gloves, hats, and scarves

By donating, you’re not only giving someone protection from the cold, but also making them feel that someone is thinking of them. Will you help?

You can drop off winter coats and warm clothing at any walk-in centre. Check our list to find the walk-in centre closest to you.

GIVE MONEY

Would you like to make a financial contribution so we can purchase winter coats, accessories, and warm clothing for our homeless visitors? You can! Donate now.

THIS IS WHAT THE RAINBOW DOES

Our walk-in centres welcome hundreds of visitors every day who come for a free hot shower, a cup of coffee, and a healthy meal. During the winter, it’s even busier than usual because homeless people can come here to warm up for a while. Donations are essential so that we can help them carry that warmth with them when they head back outside.
