Buddy for ex-prisoners
When someone has been incarcerated and is released, there are still steps to take. How will the person pick up life again and what needs to be done differently than before? This can be a difficult phase, with old pitfalls looming and the ex-prisoner sometimes having to search very hard to find a new meaning for the days.
A buddy from De Regenboog Groep can help with this. Our buddies are 'ordinary Amsterdammers' (no social workers) who enjoy hanging out with someone who is having a hard time. Enjoying a cup of coffee together, going for a walk or playing sports, it's all possible. The buddy is the person to laugh (or cry) with from time to time, someone who can think about steps in the future. A buddy and an ex-prisoner enter into a connection for a year. During that time, they do fun things together and, where possible, also take steps on a new path in life.
Becoming a buddy of a ex-prisoner
You are curious about other people, you have a positive and open attitude and a strong character. You have a stable personality, you don't mince words and you are a good listener. You are patient and contact with a complex target group is a challenge for you. You are at least 23 years old and are available for a few hours every two weeks for at least half a year. If you recognize yourself in this, we would like to meet with you for an introductory interview.
Need a buddy?
You have a detention history and you want people around you again. Family you haven't had contact with for a while but also new people. In any case, you're looking for people you won't get into trouble with. Some old acquaintances you don't want to run into again. A buddy from The Regenboog can help you with that.
