At Amoc Zuid, one of the walk-in centres run by De Regenboog Groep, we welcome about 2,000 non-Dutch EU citizens each year. These people end up on the streets for a variety of reasons: mental health issues, drug addiction, failed attempts at labor migration, or other circumstances can lead them to end up on the streets.
We offer stranded EU migrants in Amsterdam who are homeless or without a place to stay social services, a place to shower, clean clothes, and food—the first steps toward getting their lives back on track.
For the Amoc Zuid walk-in centre, we are looking for a day coordinator for 16–28 hours per week.
As a day coordinator, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operations at the walk-in centre. You’ll know how to create a pleasant atmosphere and take the initiative when it comes to development-oriented work and empowerment. Together with the site manager, you’ll explore ways to improve our services. In all of this, you’ll think in a solution-oriented way and think outside the box.
Your responsibilities will also include the following:
✓ Preparing breakfast and lunch and performing household tasks
✓ Implementing activities in accordance with our policies
✓ Registering visitors and performing administrative tasks
✓ Ensuring compliance with house rules and safety regulations
✓ Supervising volunteers and interns
✓ Representing De Regenboog in interactions with local residents
We work on a rotating schedule, seven days a week.
What do you bring to the table?
Here’s what’s important to us:
✓ You have at least a completed MBO degree and two years of work experience
✓ Familiarity with addiction and psychiatry
✓ Ability to work well in a team and a positive attitude
✓ You are resilient under stress, flexible, a strong communicator, and decisive
✓ You are fluent in English and speak Hungarian, Romanian, or Polish.
If you do not speak any of these languages but speak another Eastern European language, you are still welcome to apply. However, we prefer candidates who speak Hungarian, Romanian, or Polish; knowledge of Dutch is a plus
We offer you
✓ A pleasant workplace in Amsterdam
✓ A great deal of freedom to shape the role as you see fit
✓ A gross salary of at least €2,888 and at most €3,917 (FWG 40) based on a 36-hour workweek, with employment conditions in accordance with the GGZ collective bargaining agreement
✓ In addition to 8.33% vacation pay, an end-of-year bonus of 8.33%
✓ The opportunity to make a difference for the visitors to our walk-in centre
