28 uur per week
€€ 2.888 tot € 3.917 per maand (FWG 40 - bij 36 uur/week)

Would you like to work at our bustling AMOC West walk-in centre? Are you eager to help homeless EU citizens in Amsterdam build a new life and guide them toward the next step out of homelessness? EU migrants who are stranded in Amsterdam and are homeless or without a permanent residence can visit the AMOC West walk-in centre for clean clothes, a meal, a hot shower, and social services. There are also opportunities for day activities and relaxation

We are looking for a day coordinator for 28 hours per week at our AMOC West location.

Our visitors end up on the streets due to various circumstances: mental health issues; drug addiction; labor migration; or other situations that may mean these people need a little help to get their lives back on track

A team of “day coordinators” is responsible for the day-to-day operations and the general running of the center. Creating a pleasant atmosphere is very important in this regard. In addition to performing daily tasks at the walk-in centre, you’ll serve as a key point of contact for our visitors and take the initiative to connect them with our team of social workers. Together with your site manager and the team, you’ll explore ways to improve our services.

Your responsibilities include

  • Creating and maintaining a welcoming and safe atmosphere for our visitors
  • Taking responsibility for day-to-day operations at the location
  • Identifying visitors’ questions and needs and finding answers and solutions, in collaboration with colleagues both within and outside the organization
  • Assisting with meal preparation and performing household tasks
  • Performing administrative tasks and ensuring the transfer of information
  • Ensuring compliance with house rules and safety regulations
  • Supervising volunteers and participating visitors

This job is a good fit for you if you

  • Have an MBO+ or HBO level of work and thinking
  • Are enterprising and enthusiastic
  • Have a “hands-on” mentality
  • Are stress-resistant, flexible, a strong communicator, and decisive
  • Work well in a team and have a positive attitude
  • Are familiar with addiction and psychiatry, and have an affinity for the target group
  • Are willing to work on weekends, holidays, and evenings
  • You are fluent in English and, preferably, one other European language. Dutch is a plus

What we offer you

  • A meaningful role in a caring and committed organization
  • A dynamic work environment that encourages resourcefulness and initiative
  • Work within a close-knit team with opportunities for continuous professional development
  • The opportunity to truly make a difference for our visitors and the city
  • A gross salary ranging from a minimum of €2,888 to a maximum of €3,917 (FWG 40) based on a 36-hour workweek
  • Terms of employment in accordance with the GGZ collective bargaining agreement, including 8.33% vacation pay and an end-of-year bonus of 8.33%
  • Travel allowance and opportunities for professional development
  • The opportunity to shape and realize your ideals and broaden your horizons
