Between April 1 and December 1, De Regenboog Groep provides Short-Term Shelter (KDO) at our location at Transformatorweg 6.

The KDO offers shelter for up to two weeks to residents who simply cannot stay on the streets any longer or for whom a better solution is within reach. Our guests can come to us for a meal, a warm shower, and a comfortable place to sleep. If we see opportunities to improve their situation, we naturally seize them with both hands.

We believe it’s important that the KDO is a safe and welcoming place where people feel at home. For the morning, afternoon, and evening shifts, we’re looking for go-getters who can think on their feet and are confident and self-assured.

What will you be doing?

As a KDO staff member, you’ll provide support with day-to-day operations. You’ll answer questions, ensure the facility stays clean and tidy, and make sure everything runs smoothly. Together with your colleagues and volunteers, you’ll help create a positive atmosphere and make the center a place where people enjoy coming.

We are looking for 1 to 2 staff members for the KDO for a period of 4 months (August 1–November 30), hopefully longer; whether the KDO can remain open for winter shelter after November 30 depends on political decisions.

Your responsibilities will also include

✓ Talking with visitors about what they need to get their lives back on track
✓ Supervising volunteers
✓ Collaborating with your social work colleagues to ensure that the appropriate assistance is provided
✓ Registering visitors and performing administrative tasks
✓ Ensuring compliance with house rules and safety regulations
✓ Preparing dinner and breakfast and performing household chores
✓ Representing De Regenboog in interactions with external parties.

What do you bring to the table?

Here’s what’s important to us:

✓ You have an MBO+ or HBO level of work and thinking
✓ You are familiar with addiction and psychiatry
✓ You don’t rely on well-trodden paths, but enjoy thinking for yourself
✓ You are resilient under pressure, a strong communicator, resourceful, and decisive
✓ You speak at least one other language besides Dutch
✓ You are available starting August 1 and are willing to work outside regular office hours on an irregular schedule

Experience in healthcare is a plus!

We offer you

✓ A pleasant, challenging workplace in Amsterdam
✓ Plenty of freedom to shape the role as you see fit
✓ a gross salary of at least €2,888 and up to €3,917 (FWG 40) based on a 36-hour workweek, with employment terms in accordance with the GGZ collective bargaining agreement
✓ an end-of-year bonus of 8.33% in addition to 8.33% vacation pay
✓ the opportunity to make a difference for our guests.

Do you have that “I’ll figure it out” attitude we’re looking for?

Apply now! You can apply until Monday, July 13, at 9:00 a.m., by sending your cover letter and resume to sollicitatie@deregenboog.org, for the attention of Aukje Polder, and be sure to mention Dagco KDO.

Job interviews will take place on Wednesday, July 15.

Do you have any questions or concerns? Please contact Aukje Polder, KDO Site Manager, at 06-14980046.

And if you need any specific accommodations during the application process, please let us know!
