Are you looking for a varied job as a social worker at an organization where you can truly make a difference for homeless people? Then this is the job for you.

The housing market in Amsterdam is overheated, making it incredibly difficult to find an affordable place to live. This becomes even more difficult if you lose your home due to circumstances such as divorce or job loss. As a result, people become “economically homeless.” In various city districts, we help them on their way to finding a home. We also provide support to families staying in emergency shelters.

We are looking for a decisive and experienced colleague who thrives on a challenge. You will serve as the point of contact for economically homeless people seeking support, and you will help and guide them toward suitable housing. You will delve into their personal situations and commit to making a difference for these fellow city residents.

This position is for a 7-month term to cover maternity leave. At the same time, we hope that, depending on developments within the organization, opportunities will arise to continue the collaboration after the term ends.

What will you be doing?

ⱱ Providing guidance to economically homeless families and assisting them with practical matters

ⱱ Coordinating care for your clients and liaising with network partners

ⱱ Maintaining records in digital case files

ⱱ Building and maintaining a network so that, together with your client, you can determine the fastest route to housing

What do you bring to the table?

Here’s what’s important to us:

ⱱ You have completed a higher professional education (HBO) program

ⱱ You have experience in social services and possess knowledge of and an affinity for economically homeless individuals

ⱱ You are able to translate learning experiences into new working methods that you then share with colleagues

ⱱ You know how to translate daily practice into policy and vice versa

ⱱ Is fluent in spoken and written Dutch and, preferably, speaks Arabic

ⱱ Is entrepreneurial, enthusiastic, and able to handle stress

We offer you

ⱱ A pleasant workplace in Amsterdam

ⱱ A great deal of freedom to shape the role as you see fit

ⱱ A gross salary of at least €3,560 and at most €4,716 (FWG 50) based on a 36-hour workweek and employment conditions in accordance with the GGZ collective bargaining agreement

ⱱ In addition to 8.33% vacation pay, an end-of-year bonus of 8.33%

ⱱ The opportunity to make a difference for the economically homeless in Amsterdam

ⱱ The number of hours per week is negotiable
