As a Ukraine Reception Center Staff Member at our reception center on Bijlmerdreef, you contribute to our mission by guiding residents toward greater self-determination and independence, and by creating a safe, stimulating environment where building a future and participation are central.

What will you be doing?
As a staff member, you’ll play a pivotal role in providing shelter for people who have fled Ukraine—residents who, often in vulnerable and uncertain situations, need peace, safety, and stability. You’ll ensure a dignified, healthy living environment where they feel seen and can build a future for themselves. In addition, you’ll support the site manager by helping to create a well-organized and pleasant work environment for colleagues, volunteers, and interns.
You help ensure that daily operations at the facility run smoothly. You foster a safe and welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels welcome, seen, and heard. You’re attuned to what’s going on: you quickly notice residents’ questions and needs, and together with colleagues—both within and outside the organization—you seek appropriate answers or solutions.
In your interactions with guests, neighbors, and other stakeholders, you are approachable and friendly. You also handle administrative tasks and ensure the smooth transfer of information.
You also initiate appropriate activities for various target groups, tailoring them to their wishes and capabilities. Together with residents, you explore future scenarios—both on an individual level and in a collective context—thereby making a valuable contribution to the development of the facility and its surroundings.
In this role, a high degree of independence is essential. You take initiative, think ahead, and proactively address opportunities and signals to enhance the quality of work and the atmosphere at the facility.
What do you bring to the table?
We would love it if you:
● Have a degree at the MBO level or higher, or comparable work experience.
● Are also willing to work on weekends, in the evenings, and at various locations.
● Have an affinity for our target audience(s) and social issues.
● Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
● Have a good command of spoken and written Dutch and English. Candidates who speak Ukrainian or Russian have an advantage.
● Can work independently but also actively seeks collaboration.
● Shows genuine attention, works on the basis of equality, and stands alongside people.
● Thinks in terms of possibilities, responds flexibly to change, and finds creative solutions.
● Stand up for what’s necessary and dare to speak up, respectfully and clearly.
● Are open to feedback, diversity, and continuous development.
● Is mindful of differences in background and culture, and knows how to handle these with care and respect.

● A gross salary of at least €2,888 and at most €3,917 (FWG 40) based on a 36-hour workweek, in accordance with the GGZ Collective Bargaining Agreement.
● This includes, among other things, 8.33% vacation pay and an end-of-year bonus of 8.33%.
● Terms of employment in accordance with the GGZ collective bargaining agreement.
● Travel allowance and opportunities for professional development.
