De Regenboog Groep is committed to serving homeless people, people with addictions and people with psychiatric problems, from inside and outside the Netherlands.
Social Work AMOC is our Department of Assistance for stranded EU citizens.
We help these people towards a stable situation, with perspective in Amsterdam, elsewhere in the Netherlands, or in the country of origin. We have a person-centered approach and that characterizes our work. We are involved and empathetic are also honest about the opportunities and (im)possibilities in Amsterdam that someone has.
.We walk the extra mile to make a difference and do whatever it takes to help someone move forward. Our social workers collectively speak 15 languages and are well versed in the Dutch healthcare system. They also maintain a network in several European countries.
In order to expand our international Social Work team for EU citizens, we are looking for a Social Worker EU Citizens (for 32 hours per week, starting March 1, 2026).
As a social worker EU citizens
- You will actively approach clients and motivate them to use the social work and walk-in centres on offer;
- Work from one of our walk-in centres or on the street;
- You will be part of a team of social workers coming from different European countries;
- Work systematically, with the knowledge of Harm Reduction and focus on recovery in the Netherlands or in the country of origin;
- You actively contribute to the weekly case or work consultation;
- You are approachable for, and maintain contact with, other parties that play a role around our target group, such as Jellinek and the GGD. In addition, you build a network at home and abroad to support the assistance of our clients;
- You are flexible in time and place;
- You will receive guidance from, and be accountable to, the program coordinator of assistance at De Regenboog Groep;
This job suits you if you
- have a relevant, completed college education, or a similar education abroad
- in addition to English and Dutch, master at least one other European language. Knowledge of the healthcare system in another European country is a plus .
- Have an open attitude and are socially strong. Furthermore, you work motivating, connecting and inventive .
- see challenges and opportunities in dealing with people with complex issues;
- You are independent and not limited by beaten tracks and fixed structures;
- strong in your shoes and have life experience;

- A gross salary of minimum €2,950 and maximum €4,579 (FWG 50) based on 36 hours and working conditions according to the GGZ CAO
