Social Work Amoc is our Department of Assistance for stranded EU citizens. We help these people reach a stable situation, with perspective in Amsterdam, elsewhere in the Netherlands, or beyond. We are characterized by a person-oriented approach. We are involved and empathetic, but also honest about the opportunities and (im)possibilities in Amsterdam. We walk the extra mile to make a difference and do whatever it takes to help someone move forward. Our social workers collectively speak 15 languages and are well versed in the Dutch healthcare system. They also maintain a network in several European countries. To expand our international Social Work team for EU citizens, we are looking for
To strengthen this team we are looking for a: Romanian/Hungarian speaking Social Worker, for 32 hours per week.
As a social worker:
- You work systematically, preparing support plans and focusing on the recovery of perspective in the Netherlands or in the country of origin;
- You actively approach clients and motivate them to make use of the existing offer;
- You work from one of our walk-in centres and sometimes on the street;
- Be part of a team of social workers coming from different European countries;
- Actively contribute to the weekly case/work meeting;
- You are approachable for and maintain contact with other parties that play a role around our target group, such as Jellinek and the GGD; in addition, you build up a network at home and abroad to support the assistance to our clients;
- You are flexible in time and place;
- You will receive guidance from and be accountable to the program coordinator Relief Services of De Regenboog Groep;
What will you bring?
This is important to us:
- You have a relevant, completed college education (or similar education abroad);
- You master one of the following languages in addition to English and Dutch: Romanian or Hungarian; knowledge of the healthcare system in another European country is a plus;
- You see challenges and opportunities in dealing with people with complex problems;
- You have an open attitude and are socially strong, motivating, connecting and inventive;
- You are independent and do not feel constrained by beaten tracks and fixed structures;
- You are confident and have life experience;

- A gross salary of minimum €3,560 and maximum €4,716 (FWG50) based on 36 hours
- Conditions of employment in accordance with the GGZ collective agreement
- In addition to 8.33% vacation pay, a year-end bonus of 8.33%
