We specialize in supporting people who are homeless or living on the streets. Within our social work department, we have teams dedicated to economically homeless individuals, EU migrants, undocumented people, and those dealing with mental health issues or addiction. Even if you find it difficult to ask for help, we’ll work with you to explore your options.

That’s why we keep a close eye on changing regulations and laws. This way, we know what kinds of assistance are available and who qualifies for them. In short: we’re streetwise enough to understand the problems you’re struggling with, and we’re professional—so we don’t shy away from forms and bureaucracy.

We’ll work through your questions about homelessness and also look at what else is going on. Together, we’ll discuss what you need, what you can do on your own, and where we can provide support. In doing so, we’ll take into account your wishes, your capabilities, and the steps that need to be taken.

Some people benefit from a one-time consultation and advice, while others are better served by long-term practical assistance. If we can’t help you ourselves, we’ll refer you to someone who can. We won’t be satisfied until you’re on firmer ground.

De Regenboog has extensive experience helping EU migrants who are stranded in Amsterdam. We’ve been doing this for over 40 years. We speak many different European languages and collaborate with immigration lawyers, healthcare institutions abroad, embassies, and consulates. If you wish, we can help you return to the country where you once called home. But even if you want to stay in the Netherlands, we can tell you what your options are.

We also help undocumented people living on the streets.

You’ve lost your home, but a homeless shelter isn’t the right place for you. After all, you’re not addicted to drugs or alcohol, and you don’t have serious mental health issues. Still, you could use some help. Our social workers who specialize in assisting the economically homeless are here for you.
