About De Regenboog Groep
De Regenboog Groep strengthens Amsterdammers in a vulnerable position. We do this together with them and with hundreds of volunteers. Our projects and programs revolve around meeting, involvement, recovery and self-direction.

As a refugee shelter worker, you will contribute to our mission by guiding residents toward greater self-direction and independence, and creating a safe, stimulating environment in which building perspective and participation are central.

What will you do?
As an employee, you will be a pivotal figure in the reception of Ukrainian refugees, where residents - often in a vulnerable and insecure situation - need peace, safety and support. You provide a dignified, healthy living environment where they feel seen and can build on their future. In addition, you support the head of location by contributing to a well-organized and pleasant working environment for colleagues, volunteers and interns.
You will contribute to the smooth daily running of the site. You provide a safe and welcoming atmosphere, where everyone feels welcome and seen. You have an eye for what is going on: questions and needs of the residents you notice quickly, and together with colleagues - both inside and outside the organization - you look for appropriate answers or solutions.
In your contact with guests, local residents and others involved, you are approachable and friendly. In addition, you deal with administrative tasks and make sure that information is transferred properly.
You also initiate suitable activities for different target groups, responding to their wishes and possibilities. Together with residents, you think about future scenarios - both on an individual level and in a collective context - and thus make a valuable contribution to the development of the location and its environment.
In this position, a high degree of independence is important. You take initiative, think ahead and proactively pick up opportunities and signals to strengthen the quality of the work and the atmosphere at the location.

● An education at least at the mbo level, or similar work experience.
● Are you also willing to work on weekends, evenings and in different locations.
● Affinity with our target group(s) and socially relevant themes.
● Good communication and social skills.
● Excellent command of Dutch and English in word and writing. Candidates who speak Ukrainian/Russian have an edge.
● You can work independently, but also actively seek cooperation.
● You show sincere attention, work with equality and stand beside people.
●● You think in possibilities, respond flexibly to change and find creative solutions.
●● You stand up for what is needed and dare to make your voice heard - respectfully and clearly.
