Via Onder de Pannen, you can rent out a room to fellow townspeople who are (in danger of) losing their home due to circumstances. This may be due to a divorce, dismissal or because the temporary rental stops. The tight (and expensive) housing market makes it very difficult to find new housing. Rent a room and help someone out with hospita hosting. Anyone with a spare room can participate. This is possible with a house for sale or (social) rent. And even if you have an allowance or AOW. You won't be short-changed!
What is that, hospita hosting?
Onder de Pannen pairs someone with a room to spare (a hospita) with an economically homeless Amsterdam resident looking for a room. The goal is to prevent homelessness and offer people a temporary home with a fellow city resident who has a room to spare. This prevents people from getting into trouble because of their homelessness and allows someone to work on a structural solution from a stable base.
Everyone who has a room to spare can apply to be a landlord. Also people with benefits, allowances and a (social) rental property. They run no risk of a discount. Thus an empty room turns into an opportunity for someone else and a financial bonus for the person renting. Landlords thus help a fellow city dweller gain new perspective and get companionship.
Who is it for?
Under the Pans is for people who are economically homeless. These are people who can get their lives back on track without too much help, and especially need support in finding a place to live. These are people who cannot claim social housing, and with a little help from social work and a temporary place to live can get life back on track.
How does it work?
Legal subletting without the hassle: you can arrange that through De Regenboog Groep's Onder de Pannen via hospita hosting. We have already rented out over 250 rooms in this way. We do this in close cooperation with municipalities, housing corporations, benefit agencies and according to procedures of the Tax Office. The rent is guaranteed to be paid via Onder de Pannen, professional guidance is included and you receive an official rental agreement.
