Vacancy: Winter night shelter worker / Night shelter host (Nov. 15, 2025 - April 1, 2026)
EU migrants who are stranded in Amsterdam and homeless can turn to walk-in centre Amoc for a bite to eat, a hot shower and clean clothes. The night shelter hosts changing vulnerable clients who need a place to sleep for at least one night.
For our night shelter we are now looking for a new colleague.
As a nightcare worker, you will be responsible for welcoming our guests. You perform housekeeping tasks such as providing meals and act as a point of contact for practical questions and problems. You are flexible, stress-resistant and resourceful when challenges arise and decisive.

EU migrants who are stranded in Amsterdam and homeless can come to the Amoc drop-in center for a meal, a hot shower, and clean clothes. The night shelter welcomes a variety of vulnerable clients who need a place to sleep for at least one night.
During the wintertime we will extend the night shelter. We are currently looking for a new colleague for the winter period in our night shelter.
As a night shelter employee, you will be responsible for welcoming our guests. You will perform household tasks such as preparing meals and act as a point of contact for practical questions and problems. You are flexible, stress-resistant, resourceful when challenges arise, and decisive.

Your duties will further include
.- Registering visitors and performing administrative duties
- Monitoring compliance with house and safety rules
- Creating a pleasant atmosphere
- Prepare dinner and breakfast for clients and perform other housekeeping duties
- Representing The Regenboog in contact with local residents
This job suits you if you
- Like working nights, the shifts are between 9 p.m. and 9 a.m., no sleeper shifts!
- You can work at least two nights a week, and are flexible; also as a substitute for illness and holidays
- You have at least a completed secondary vocational education .
- You have a good command of English; knowledge of an Eastern European language is a plus, for example Hungarian or Romanian .
- You like working in a team but can and want to work alone at night
- You have knowledge about substance abuse and psychiatric disorders
- Are willing to work alternating evening and night shifts, including weekends and holidays
