De Regenboog Groep tackles social problems in the city and offers people perspective (again). Team Work & Activation of De Regenboog Groep helps people who would like to work (again) but have difficulty finding a place in the regular labor market. We focus on participation, reintegration, training and developing work skills. People can choose from various workplaces at different social firms such as The Buurtboerderij and work companies like The Bookbindery, sewing studio ZigZag, sound studio DigiVibes, print shop The Repro or: Bicycle repair shop Bike Clinic.
For Bike Workshop Bike Clinic we are looking for a bicycle mechanic/work supervisor for a minimum of 24 hours and a maximum of 32 hours per week.
About Bike Clinic
.De Regenboog Groep runs a small bicycle workshop near Central Station, with two max three work stations. Participants - Amsterdammers with a distance to the labor market - are given the opportunity here to learn the bicycle repair trade under supervision. The Bike Clinic does simple repairs on city bikes of local residents and users of the office buildings located around the Bike Clinic. The participants have a background with psychological and/or addiction problems, and/or homelessness and are ready for a step towards day activities and ideally eventually paid work.
.In and around the Bike Clinic there is plenty of room for development. The bike shop is located in a building with many small business owners, who have a desire to collaborate. Cooperating with local residents and possibly expanding the possible work for participants is also on the wish list for 2026.
.Who we're looking for:
The work supervisor we are looking for has experience with bicycle technology, affinity with our target group and is communicatively strong and connecting. You will work closely with a route coach and the colleagues from De Regenboog Groep's bicycle workshop Streetwise.
Your duties will include:
- Drafting personal development plans with participants
- Supervising and encouraging participant development
- Creatively adapt work to participants' needs and skills and invent new work
- Actively network with local employers and organizations, with the goal of creating work experience places in the immediate area .
- Collaborate with colleagues, partner organizations, local residents and other initiators in the area
- Devising and realizing new initiatives and activities as desired .
This job suits you if you:
- Have at least a completed mbo education
- Experience and affinity with people for whom regular work (temporarily) does not fit
- You are well organized, proactive and humorous
- You are a positive, motivating and initiative-filled work supervisor
- Compatible, able to connect with participants' worlds of experience and overcome language barriers with creativity (or hands and feet)
- Creates a pleasant working atmosphere .
- Enjoy offering "customized" guidance, with an eye for people's strengths and development perspectives
- (Ideally) have a technical background and enjoy working with our participants on technical projects (e.g. making bicycles)
- Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English (written and spoken) .
