More than 1,500 volunteers dedicate themselves to a fellow city dweller through De Regenboog every year. As buddies, they help people with problematic debts, with addictions or who are new to the city get their lives back on track. We are immediately looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join our team.
As coordinator you ensure the right match with Amsterdammers who are looking for a buddy. In addition, you are responsible for guiding (new) volunteers, training and recruitment can be part of this. You have experience with people with a refugee background (in procedure, with temporary protection, with a status or undocumented) and are involved in their situation. The social map of Amsterdam has no secrets for you in this area.
Your duties will also include
✓ Conduct intake and evaluation interviews with participants in the buddy project
✓ Taking care of administrative reporting
✓ Maintaining our network
✓ Supervising trainees and providing intervisions
This job suits you if you
✓ Have a college working and thinking level
✓ Have experience working with people from refugee backgrounds (asylum seekers, status holders, undocumented, displaced persons)
✓ Have experience supervising volunteers
✓ Are willing to work an evening each month
✓ Be entrepreneurial, decisive and results-oriented
✓ Have a command of Dutch, English and - preferably - an additional language (such as an Eastern European language, Arabic, Tigrinya or Farsi)
This is a temporary annual contract with the option to extend.
