EU migrants who are stranded in Amsterdam and homeless can come to walk-in centre AMOC for clean clothes, a meal, a hot shower and social work. There is also opportunity for day activities and relaxation.
Every year we see about two thousand non-Dutch EU citizens in our walk-in centres. These people end up on the street due to various situations: psychiatric vulnerability; drug addiction; labor migration or other situations can lead to these people needing a push to get their lives back on track.
We are seeking for our Amoc West location: A Day Coordinator for 16 to 24 hours per week. The number of hours can be agreed upon in consultation with the location head.
As a day coordinator, you are responsible for the daily operations and goings-on at the location. You know how to create a pleasant atmosphere in the walk-in centre and take the initiative when it comes to development-oriented work and activation. Together with the head of the location you look at how we can improve our services. In all this you think solution-oriented and outside the box.
.Your duties will further include
.✓ Creating and maintaining a welcoming and safe atmosphere for our visitors
.✓ Preparing breakfast and lunch and performing housekeeping duties
.✓ Implementing activities resulting from our policies
✓ Registering visitors and performing administrative duties
.✓ Monitoring compliance with house and safety rules
.✓ Supervise volunteers, interns and cooperating visitors
.
This job suits you if you
✓ Possess at least a completed mbo education and have two years of work experience
✓ Are familiar with addiction and psychiatry
.✓ Can work well as part of a team and have a positive attitude
✓ Are stress-resistant, flexible, communicatively strong and decisive
✓ Proficient in English and at least one European language such as Polish, Hungarian, Romanian or Russian. Dutch is a plus
✓ Willing to work weekends as well, we are open 7 days a week
