The employees of De Regenboog Groep all have their own reason to be motivated for their work, and that makes us very grateful. Below we let a few employees have their say.
"De Regenboog Groep makes a broad commitment to society. That makes me happy and is why I enjoy working here."
Mylène
Since February 2020
She actually does a little bit of everything, but good chance (one in three) that you'll hear her voice when you call the Regenboog. Or that your mail to our infobox ends up in the safety net of her eyes. From there, she makes sure everyone ends up where they need to be within the Regenboog. Sometimes quite a bit of a labyrinth, so that's very nice.
After volunteering at the Regenboog, this job came my way and I knew I wanted to be a part of this organization."
Monique and Nadia
Since September 2019 and March 2023
.These two women* make sure that Regenboog employees don't have to sit in their stomachs with questions about salary, travel expenses, hours and vacations and such. They get those out of the way right away. They give new staff a warm welcome, with a complete induction program. And they make sure that everyone is paid on time, which is also handy.
* Portrait and quote of Nadia at the top of this page
."I get very happy working for an organization with its heart in the right place. Every day I enjoy my impressive colleagues, they really make a difference."
Isabel and Ype
Since August 2022 and January 2023
.Money, after all, is also needed to do our work. That's why you might be a donor? To make a contribution for a more social city? Isabel and Ype take care of those donations so that they end up exactly where they are intended. They also take care of the administrative tasks of our project leaders, so that they can focus on what it's all about: helping people.
"After years of working in commercial environments, I was ready for a more meaningful use of my working life. I am proud of the impact the Regenboog is having on Amsterdam."
Nasir
For thirty years
.Nasir has made it his mission to always do everything he can to help refugees and the homeless. Both from his own person and from the Regenboog. In the office, we wonder if this man ever sleeps. What doesn't he arrange and transport? From food and clothing for the homeless to mattresses for newly arrived refugees. Where the need is, there is Nasir.
"My job is to help people who need help, all over the world."
Ties
Since April 2022
Designing a flyer? So that a Rainbow Project becomes known to the people it can help. Or a logo? Like the magnifying glass in Fellowship 'Look Further' (No. 4 - 2022). Ties does it in a creative pinch. He also creates our general Regenboog newsletter. AND he manages our intranet HONK, so we as staff and volunteers can share all sorts of things with each other.
"I work at the Regenboog because of the organization's culture of helping other people."
Joaney: executive secretary
Since April 2019
Our rather inspired management is supported by Joaney. For her, no boring days. No, her job is rather a never-ending jigsaw puzzle from agenda management and managing meetings to all sorts of coordination jobs, such as those of important hallmark audits and ISO certification. She also organizes our famous midsummer drink and arranges Christmas treats for employees. Fun jobs that she calls her 'extra icing on the cake'.
"Never before have I felt so connected to an organization. I am seen there, by all my colleagues. For me, this is the nicest club in the nicest city."
